Our mission
We are more than the roads we operate. Our global perspective, data, and technology deliver innovations that improve safety in our industry, communities and travel networks across North America.

Safety is ingrained in our DNA, influencing every aspect of our operations both on and off the road. With 24/7 monitoring and dedicated incident response, we've saved customers an average of 413,000 hours each workday in fiscal year 2023 alone.
Beyond our Lanes, we actively support road safety initiatives through strategic partnerships, ensuring that every journey is a safe one. As one of the world's largest toll-road operators and developers, we remain committed to upholding the highest safety standards, protecting commuters across North America as they travel more efficiently and smoothly.
On the Ground
Greater Washington Area
In the Greater Washington area, we operate one of largest networks of managed lanes in the world, a 63-mile highway-within-a-highway that keeps the sixth largest metro area in the U.S. moving.

Open for traffic
- The reversible 95 Express Lanes run 41 miles from Fredericksburg to Alexandria, Virginia.
- The 395 Express Lanes connect directly to the 95 Express Lanes and bring customers to the Washington, D.C. line.
- The 495 Express Lanes span 14 miles from near Springfield to Tysons, Virginia.
- The new Opitz Boulevard ramp connects Virginia's second-most populated county to the 95 Express Lanes.
Coming soon
- The 2.5-mile 495 Express Lanes Northern Extension project will improve congestion, provide dedicated transit funding and offer direct access from the Express Lanes to major connecting roadways.
Québec, Canada
The 4.5-mile A25 toll road and bridge is Québec’s first transportation public-private partnership (PPP) and is located in one of the fastest growing parts of the city.

Open for traffic
- The A25 facility was designed to improve transportation between Northern Montreal and nearby commercial residential areas, as well as provide an alternate route for freight transportation.
- It includes nearly four-lanes of highway and connects to a six-lane cable-stayed bridge that crosses the Riviere des Prairies.
- The bridge also includes a pedestrian path and a reserved public transit lane. The project opened in May 2011 and Transurban acquired it in May 2018.

Operations team
Our operations teams are the driving force behind our network's success, managing the 495, 395, and 95 Express Lanes in Virginia, as well as the A25 in Montréal, Quebec, 24/7. They maintain our systems, provide customer service, monitor the roadways, and respond to incidents. Additionally, Operations plays a crucial role in strategic asset management by ensuring the long-term efficiency of our corridors and continually finding ways to make travel safer.
-
Innovation team
We're at the forefront of transportation technology, developing innovative solutions that go beyond steel and concrete solutions and creating new technology ecosystems that pave the way for a safer, more efficient trip on our roads. Our cutting-edge developments that enable safer travel on the world’s longest reversible road also help Connected and Autonomous Vehicles (CAVs) to operate safely, relaying data from the road to the car and back again—paving the way for a future of self-driving cars.
-
Communications and Marketing team
The Communications and Marketing team works collaboratively with the Operations, Innovation, and Delivery teams to improve traveler safety through education, share milestones and important updates, and perpetuate the culture of safety that is engrained in everything we do.
